Artak Paskevichyan recently attended the 2019 NSAA Fall Education Seminar in Squaw Valley, California presenting the Mt. Rose Avalanche Death matter that the firm successfully defended in October 2018 in Reno, Nevada. Attendees were attorneys, mountain managers, risk managers, and ski patrollers. Discussions emphasized best practices to avoid injuries at winter venues, as well as the avoidance of litigation pitfalls, and best practices in handling investigations and litigations.
In March 2020, Ray Gates and Artak Paskevichyan were participants at the Association of Ski Defense Attorneys conference in Big Sky, Montana. The conference focused on current legal issues involving winter and summer sport venues, participants and guests. Topics also included current Nevada and California inherent risk law and ongoing litigation in the ski industry.
In February 2020, Ray Gates was a guest speaker at the “Dental Group Expo 2020” in Las Vegas. Ray presented to the American Academy of Group Practice discussing current litigation trends, case reviews, as well as dental group best practices. Ray also detailed top practitioner created risks and risk management concerns for group practices including strategies to reduce risk/litigation exposure.
We are proud to announce the addition of Joseph Helfrick to the firm as an Associate. Joe received his Juris Doctor degree from Lincoln Law School in Sacramento, California in 2015. Joe will focus on civil litigation, particularly professional negligence liability defense, personal injury defense and general and tort liability defense.
We are pleased to announce that Artak Paskevichyan has successfully passed the Nevada Bar and was sworn in by Washoe County Chief Judge Scott Freeman on May 16, 2019. Artak graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2015 and has been practicing in California since 2016. His practice will include litigation defense in California and Nevada.
